Short Biography

Dr. WONG Yuk Sum is a Fellow at the Energy Studies Institute, National University of Singapore. He received his B.Eng., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees all in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong. His research projects covered optimization of energy management systems for electric, fuel cell, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery modeling. From 2007 to 2008, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he developed a temperature-compensated battery charge regime for standby applications.

Dr. Wong has published 10 refereed articles. He won the Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award for Education from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in 2007 and holds a patent on battery charging method.
